With infibulation, the woman suffered only damage
Santandrà Povegliano - Too many couples who refuse to have children and the politico-administrative class is not able to develop and implement effective tools for action, such as to prevent the aging of our country. In this context, migrants can be a valuable resource, but some migration flows bring with them problems - such as polygamy and infibulation - which, until a few years ago, were unknown in Italy. On the 9th of October at 20:45 at the premises of the parish of Santandrà Povegliano of being a church, a meeting will be held sull'infibulazione. The speakers also gynecologist Vince Aloisi, who has granted the following interview.
Dr. Aloisi, in terms of surgery as is female circumcision?
The World Health Organisation has classified four types of female circumcision. The first case is a minor abrasion or puncture of the clitoris, with escape of seven drops of blood: it is essentially a symbolic practice. In the second case we have the removal of the clitoris, with or without small incisions in the labia minora. In the third case, however, also carry over to the clitoris to the removal of the labia minora and labia majora with the next part of the outer seam, in which small holes are left for urination and the expulsion of the menstrual cycle.
No. Subiscono solo danni.
From a personal perspective, against the advice of my medical colleague, Dr. Abdulcadir Omar, who works in Tuscany, and has proposed un'infibulazione "soft" practiced at the hospital, I say that this kind of mutilation can not - indeed should not - be legalized in Italy. Strive to convince the people who practice female circumcision in a ritual to transform bloodless and symbolic, on only one inner purity.
Today, with current techniques of plastic surgery, we can rebuild the parts of a mutilated woman who underwent female circumcision as a child?
surgery can certainly be much, but the results depend the type of existing lesions. ( Carlo Silvano )

In the name of legality, a large group of Moroccans - composed of men, women and children (some even in the ninth month of pregnancy) - was dismissed in late August of 2002 from Borgo Venezia, a peripheral neighborhood of Treviso. The North Africans had illegally occupied a number of apartments owned ATER (a local government body responsible for housing) and in front of the police and the bulldozers started to demolish the houses there, nothing they could do but leave the area. Without a roof, in a state of need, the Moroccans have found helpful in some belonging to a community center, which directed them to the town 'so that their situation was placed under the eyes of all. At this point, controversies and divisions have arisen, especially with the decision to acuitesi Mgr. Paul Magnani, Bishop of Treviso, not to abandon the Maghreb to their fate but to offer them concrete help. While there were numerous people who have square around the Bishop, claiming that evangelical charity requires courageous decisions and defend the past, other than a few wondered whether the presence of Muslims on the main square of the Catholic Church local (as well as the support given to them by the highest ecclesiastical authority of the diocese), it could set a dangerous precedent for further demonstration projects, besides being a serious attempt to defend the law but, at that time, he had championed as the mayor of the city as a guarantor ATER the legitimate decision to demolish their dilapidated apartments Borgo Venezia.
In this climate, and using television who made the tour of Italy, have started to circulate early poisons. More than one wondered what would happen - in a country with a significant Islamic presence - whether a group of Christians, driven by necessity, had the audacity to approach a mosque to ask for help or to make even a simple action demonstration. Someone else - apparently driven by feelings of intolerance towards Muslims
or simply uninformed compared to what happened in the churchyard of the cathedral - has been put on a strange, ridiculous and unfounded story, "Who needs it can go to the Bishop and have a house for free, as well as now they are getting the Moroccans "(meaning, the latter, as people living illegally on the edge of a healthy society and active) ... [introduction]
The book deals with various issues related to the coexistence of two different civilizations and especially the two religions which, if on the one hand are akin to a belief in one God, then they differ greatly on other points, especially since Islam is a religion, political structure, and then conditioned by laws and social customs that have altered the primary matrix. The same reading of the Quran - become a code of civil life as well as religious - is proof.

Mesolcina Calanca: Catholicism remains a font of local
I think so: it is known in particular cases, such as funerals, festivities, weddings. But not only. Even if the spirit seems asleep, in reality there is a fire under the ashes. I spiego.Se a parish seat remains vacant even for a few weeks, the debate turns on the successor to the priest, and everyone talks about it plenty, though it must be admitted that much depends on the so-called "patriotism." I also think the discussions and the interest people on the restoration of churches, how to place the cemeteries - which are the property of political communication - or the problems that arise with other religions "new" such as Islam, which encourages discussions in those countries, even
if Islam is a little present from us.
what data you have on the frequency of the sacraments and mesolcinesi calanchini?
The Diocese maintains a sort of annual questionnaire, and we correspond, roughly, the average diocesan: 10 to 20% is the average frequency, which rises dramatically at Christmas and Easter.
The young people of his parishes and their relationship with God ..
not spend much time, but have a growing interest: just meet them - outside the church - and talk to them, to understand that "yearning for the Absolute."
In general, how does the religion in the two valleys?
Lei è parroco a Soazza, in Mesolcina, e a Rossa, Santa Domenica, Augio e Cauco in Val Calanca.
Vi sono busy people, but a few. All or almost
show some interest, even those who are far from religious practice, but few feel
engaged on an ongoing basis: at times "we are always the same."
Can you describe, even briefly, lay associations present in the two valleys?
decreasing. There are too many companies and too many groups singing, music, sports, culture, dramatic societies. You risk the loss in general. This is reflected in the few church groups.
The two valleys are, according to his knowledge, people belonging to Masonic lodges?
There are some, certainly, but these are people who jealously guards the secret, even though I know for a fact that there are some.
Generally documents such as the encyclical letter "Deus Caritas Est" of Pope Benedict XVI or the pastoral letters of the diocesan bishop has raised, among his parishioners, discussions, questions and comparisons?
Unfortunately little echo. Although insisting on certain subjects, the discourse is rather
"crystallized." Perhaps for lack of study or cultural curiosity.
The two valleys are part of the diocese of Chur, but a possible membership in the Diocese of Lugano what benefits you think could have? What, however, the limits that might emerge? In fact
is intense collaboration with Lugano, as a matter of language. But it would be a hornet's nest of controversy the proposal for a change. The fire under the embers stir once. This is why nobody thinks to change the "status quo". (Edited by Charles Silvano)
